Theme Scripture:
So also Christ did not take upon himself the glory of becoming a high priest, but he was called by the one who said to him:” You are my son “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek” Hebrews 5:5-6 (BSB)
A priest is a person/individual that stands in the gap for others. Just praying for others does not qualify an individual to become a priest. What qualifies an Intercessor as a priest? Standing in the gap for God’s people, not just for immediate family or self.
In other words, interceding for nations and kingdoms in accordance to God’s will is a major characteristics of a Priest. When you are a priest you must have everyone at heart. As an intercessor in IWMI you must know that God has appointed you a Priest because you have given yourself in totality to Him and consistently enforce His will concerning Nations and Kingdoms.
Roles of the Priest
- Separate yourself from the crowd. In Genesis 12:1-3 (NKJV), God wanted Abraham to become a priest, so He instructed him to leave his country and family. Abraham needed to be separated in order to function as a priest.
- We also must separate ourselves from every distractions so that we can function as God’s priests.
- You give commands according to God’s will. You don’t beg, your words are backed up with power.
- The fourth role as a priest is to bless and curse (Numbers 22 ).
Give yourself out to God. There is no you, God becomes your way and your direction. As a priest, you must be in alignment with the will of God (Ezekiel 37:1-7). - When you are aligned you are no longer an ordinary man. You see what God sees and His will becomes established through you like Ezekiel.
In conclusion, we are not priests to ourselves, step into your priesthood today, intercede and take authority on earth.
