On Sunday, December 13th, 2020, the International Women’s Ministry for Intercession (IWMI) organised a Christmas party for the Down Syndrome Foundation in Fagba, Lagos. The aim of the party was to extend a helping hand to people living with Down syndrome, while bringing smiles to their faces during the Christmas season.
The Down Syndrome Foundation is an organisation committed to improving the lives of individuals living with Down syndrome. They provide education, training and support to those affected by the condition.
IWMI, a non-profit organisation that focuses on helping women and children, donated several useful items to the foundation. These included a washing machine, first aid box, toys, food items, and other everyday essentials.
The Christmas party was a day full of joy, fun and laughter. There were games, music and dance performances by the Down Syndrome Foundation beneficiaries. The IWMI team also showed their love and support by engaging with the individuals, taking pictures and singing songs.
Mrs. Best Eiterebhe, the coordinator of IWMI, said: “We are delighted to have organised this party for the Down Syndrome Foundation. We believe in supporting those who are marginalised in our community, especially during the festive season. The Down Syndrome Foundation is doing an amazing job, and we are glad to have partnered with them.”
The Down Syndrome Foundation’s founder, Mrs. Rose Mordi, expressed her gratitude to the IWMI team, saying: “We are grateful to IWMI for organising this party and for the generous donations. The items given will make a positive impact on the individuals’ lives. We appreciate their loving and kind gesture towards us.”
