Theme Scripture:
36″Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” 37 Jesus answered him, “love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you’ 38 This is the greatest and supreme commandment. Matthew 22:36-37 (TPT)
Love is a choice, it is a sacrificial choice. Sacrifice is seen in your willingness to give, not necessarily money but things that are of great value to you. It could be your time, attention, things you love, just to mention a few. Love is from God, hence, there is no true love without God. This is because God and love are inseparable (1John 4:7). Our theme text also teaches us that we are expected to love God with all our heart, soul and body.
Your love for the father is an extremely important aspect of your relationship with Him. Without which it is impossible to walk and work with Him. This is a call to true love for the father, you have been given a choice to love or not to. You have a choice now.
What is the Demonstration of your Love for the Father
• Obedience to the father’s command is a major test of your love. John 14:15.
• Alignment to His will at all times. This love is about the father not you.
• As an intercessor you prioritise the script and carry out your assignment because of your love for the father. You obey His instructions not because of anyone or as a way of pleasing your leader but because of your love for the father.
• You are driven always by your love for the father.
• When you love the father, you desire what He desires, you hate what He hates, and you are always after His kingdom.
Conclusion
Love the father with all you have, put your love for the father to practice.
Let His love be the reason for your consistency in carrying out your assignment as we fulfil the script.
